The arctis lineup is full of design flaws they refuse to fix, and quality of the sound is terrible for the price they are charging. I am not the only one with a bad experience, they got popular because they made good products, the siberia lineup was excellent. Steelseries engine 3 was a great software. The software was good, before they made it into GG. i know i will prob get downvotes for this post but i only type it because i hope it helps someone not waste their time and money like i did ill never go back to wired unless i have to, and the only good thing i will say about the arctis is they mics are better but u should never use a wireless headset mic as they are flawed technology to begin with and u should just buy a desk mic if ur on pc. and i will say astros aint for everyone, they have their flaws too but honestly the baseline overweighs any other headset imo. i found this post today while curious looking if there's any better alternative recommendations to buy since i got a fat paycheck and was thinking if i ever wanna treat myself to a non-used/refurbished product but sadly people still recommend this trash, ill prob take the gamble of buying a newer gen astro a50 and hope i dont get dock issues like the rest lol. i just wish that new ones werent 400$ and ive heard many problems with newer models because of the docks but my gen1's lasted me 5 years of heavy pc shooter usage 8 hours a day, only reason i had to replace is the battery life went from 16 hours to 3 but thats how batteries work over 5 years lol. maybe im spoiled with astro but these things are clouds on your head in terms of feel and outside gaming, just listening music or watching movies sound amazing. i ended up literally just going on ebay and paid for another used decade old gen1 astro a50 for under 100$, cleaned em up and haven't regretted it since. and yes i know most people are talking for the arctis 7 but they are the cheaper version(half the price) of than the ones i tried. astros vs arctis people are like gaming chairs vs mesh chairs people LOL. im tired of people who overhype their products to be honest, it's just sleek simply design'd trash that markets towards clean aesthetic people who highroad 'quality' that probably never had experienced anything else to begin with. i'm not ripping on them for fun either it was a huge waste of my time going through reviews and people comparing but even worse the return process, they have bad customer service i ended up just selling on facebook marketplace. ![]() that being said there is no bass at all no matter how much you toy with settings, and just feel too small and not even comfortable even on the loosest adjustments. I know this post is old but honestly i have to say i tried moving from gen1 astro a50's to the arctis pro wireless after reading so many reviews and people that 'stand by it' but the quality is mid, they are not loud at all, and if u force them to be they are really whiny and u can hear a speaker rattle. I haven't gotten any of their products in the past 3 - 4 years but my experience with them are 50/50 so far (good experience with Arctics 7 but bad experience with Rival 600. I replaced it with Omron switch and it's been working much better. Steel Series has their own mouse switch which is pretty crappy. Luckily, I'm pretty handy with electronic and get a mouse switch replacement. By the time, I noticed that it happened all around the board, it passed warranty period. I didn't pay attention or think it was button since it happened to one game at first. ![]() I have Rival 600 mouse which I really like but after about 8-9 months of usage, the button started to show some defect (when I ADS in FPS game, sometime it went to hip fire aim as if I let go of right mouse click). I just didn't like the sound range however I totally understand what you mean about the quality went down hill. ![]() I got Arctic 7 a while back (5-6 years) and not really having any issue with it.
